DISCOVER CAPRESE MICHELANGELO

THE TERRITORY

The tiny village of Caprese is nestled in the Tuscan Valtiberina, a place steeped in history and shaped by the many groups of people who have lived here. Its hills are lost in the horizon, dotted with picturesque villages, silent sanctuaries, chestnut groves and imposing castles. This is the perfect destination for those who want to experience and be surrounded by pure, authentic and pleasantly wild nature.

The charm of this unspoiled land makes  us think about a future in which our cultural heritage is in perfect balance with the most efficient innovations.

It was in this corner of Italy that the Genius of the Renaissance, Michelangelo Buonarroti, was born on March 6, 1475. To celebrate the work of this timeless artist, the name Michelangelo was added to the ancient name of Caprese by Royal Decree dated February 9, 1913

“I remember how on this day, the 6th of March 1475, a young boy was born, his name was Michelagnolo, and he was born on Monday morning, before 4 or 5 hours, when I was the head of Caprese and he was born…”.
