It was in this corner of Italy that the Genius of the Renaissance, Michelangelo Buonarroti, was born on March 6, 1475. To celebrate the work of this timeless artist, the name Michelangelo was added to the ancient name of Caprese by Royal Decree dated February 9, 1913
